In this ever-evolving battleground of heat-not-burn products being the new “go to” switch from traditional cigarettes, we know that it pays to stay on top of your game. It seems that PMI have just done that with their new Keynote speech and hands on with not one but two new devices.
They say that having listened to customers feedback or “customer insights” in the words of PMI for its first generation IQOS they have upgraded and made a few funky tweaks to enhance the customer experience (this is all starting to feel a bit “apple”). PMI plans to roll these out over the next two months across all 43 markets in which it is currently present. The two new products are IQOS 3 and IQOS 3 Multi.
So, let’s start with the IQOS 3
This looks very different from the traditional (is it too early to start using that word) IQOS. For starters rather than opening at the top it opens at the side. I guess the bottom line as to if this is better or not is subjective but I have to say the whole thing looks a lot more integrated than before and just that little bit slicker. There is also a place within the holder where you can store HEETS. Now that is a good idea and again something that was borne out of customer insight.
Introducing, IQOS 3 Multi
Straight of the block this thing makes more sense. The main annoyance reported by customers was that the less you do to mess with the ritual of smoking the better and having to keep recharging. The multi almost does away with this allowing 10 HEETS stick to be used before it needs to be recharged. The HEET holder itself is slightly bulkier but that is a small price to pay compared to having to charge between smokes.
Information overall is still a little bit sketchy about the other innovations on the new IQOS 3 and IQOS 3 multi but one thing we know for sure is PMI is taking IQOS seriously and really does see the product as it’s future. So far over 6 million people globally have converted and IQOS 3 and IQOS 3 Multi will surely mean that the number of converts will certainly rise over the coming months as the technology and understanding and of course market share of IQOS increases.
